He was uninjured luckily but upon inspection of the underside of the strap it appears a second strap was close to breaking as well and if this one had also given out my son would have hit the floor with his face

By that time the turtle was reaching temps of 190F and greater. Clear electrical short circuit which caused melting of components and shorting the batteries. This is an extreme fire hazard in most situations.

  5. No one hurt

Made Sep 27, 2018, sent to the company Jan 29, 2019, published by CPSC Feb 12, 2019

The product, in the report: https://www.kidsii.com/brands/bright-starts/60539-2in1-laugh-lights-activity-gym-saucer It’s a bright starts brand activity gym saucer, with a green bottom, blue fabric seat, a lights and sound bar with a sun mirror in the middle. The part that snapped off is the green frog.

My 6.5 month old daughter was in a Bright Starts exercauser playing with the attached toys. There was a frog that you could push up and down on, which made the thing underneath it spin little balls around. She was pulling the frog towards her when it snapped and broke off slinging her back in the seat. The frog has a hard spiral piece underneath it, posing a risk of hitting a child in the eye or hurting their throat if they were to put it in their mouth. When it broke off it scared my daughter, I picked her up and took the broken part to inspect it. You could tell where the plastic had snapped there was a small piece missing, posing a potential choking hazard. I contacted the company, who didn’t seem to take it seriously because my daughter wasn’t injured. They have a previous recall for a similar reason on a baby Einstein activity jumper, but when I spoke with them about it being a similar incident they assured me the recall for that was because of a spring. The exersaucer we have had a spring inside where the frog was sitting. When I went back to read the recall it stated on their web site “Name of product: Baby Einstein Musical Motion Activity Jumpers Hazard: The “sun” toy attachment on the activity jumper can rebound with force and injure the infant, posing an impact hazard.” ([REDACTED]/) They didn’t seem concerned about anything other than trying to refund me a depreciated amount. They said they let their safety team know and about having it shipped to them, but that would take longer for me to receive a full refund. Then I was instructed to take it apart, cut the fabric seat and write a code on it, so that they could ensure it wouldn’t be taken back for a full refund to the store, or still being used. I asked if they still wanted to have the item picked up to have it inspected, but stated it would be a longer process. I also have an 18 month old that could have picked up and swallowed the small part that flew out when it snapped. They are still selling this products and quite a few similar ones.

The product, in the report: Bright Start Finding Nemo activity center bouncer

The straps broke with my baby in it! It has a major design flaw...the straps are looped through metal brackets on the underside of the seat and the edges are sharp and slowly cut through the straps...I only used this for 4 months with first baby and a couple of weeks for my second baby...he is 4 months and the strap broke with him in it!!! Omg!!! And no one wants to do anything about it! I bought at babies r us and they still sell it there. I looked to see if they fixed the design flaw and they did not. I saw the product design is still faulty...they sell this at Target too...wtf!!!

We had purchased the Disney Baby Finding Nemo Sea of Activities Jumper approximately 5 months ago. Our son was jumping in it the morning of 2-28-16 at approximately 9:15 AM and one of the four nylon straps broke while he was jumping in it. While he was in the seat jumping the platform with our son seated in the seat of the platform fell towards the corner that had broken, leaving his legs stuck in the seat and him face down on the ground.

Upon inspection of what caused the break, there is a metal buckle on all four corners where the straps are held at the underside of the platform the baby sits in. This is a stamped piece of steel which leaves one side with sharp edges. This is a factory pre-installed part and is not adjusted or moved when assembling the product. The intended jumping motion in this product over time would appear to cause wear on the nylon strap from the sharp edges of the steel buckle against on the nylon strap, eventually wearing through and cutting the nylon strap causing a break.

The product, in the report: Bright Starts Pretty in Pink Bounce-A-Round Entertainer - Sweet Safari

My mother purchased the Bright Starts Pretty in Pink Bounce-A-Round Entertainer - Sweet Safari at Kohls 2 months ago for my then 6 month old. My daughter was using it daily until last week, 6/11/15, I witnessed my baby fall out head first. She was screaming and had a good sized bump on her head but she’s OK. I fear other babies will not be as lucky. She didn’t even meet the max weight yet! The item is advertised for ages 4 months and up. Max weight being 25 pounds. She weighs 22 pounds. I’ve posted online reviews about this dangerous item including on Facebook where my comment was deleted by Target!

In December 2011 I bought my daughter the Bright Starts, Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone. The first incidents were between five to eight months old I noticed cuts in the folds of her legs - I assumed she had scratched herself during a diaper change and I had just failed to notice when diapering her. However recently after direct removal from her Bright Starts, Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone at 10 months old after being in it less than 20 minutes my daughter suffered multiple cuts (some deep) to her vagina & inner legs from the seats leg holes. My daughter rarely used this item but the few times she did resulted in cuts from the fabric. My daughter has used other brand products with a similar seat and holes and had no problems. Bright Starts, Bounce Bounce Baby Activity Zone needs to recall this item and redo their design so this does not happen to other infants.

April 8, 2011at 10:00AM 22yr old father/caller while visiting his mother was sitting by his 6 month old son when the 6 month old while bounching hit his mouth on one of the toys on his bouncing activity exerciser. Father looked at him, baby’s mouth was bleeding and one of the two lower only teeth baby has was knocked out. Father has tooth in zip lock bag, called pediatrician who normally sees baby, was informed that he is completely booked so is referring them to another office, however father states that it has been long time and he is planning to take baby to emergency room if doctor has not called back by the time this report is completed.
