  1. No one hurt

The product, in the report: doona Stroller/car seat. color:Black Model SP101-10-001-003 UPC

We bought the Doona car seat stroller, we used this product as a car seat and stroller the proper way. A few days ago I was ready to place my baby in her car seat and I noticed that the harness was shred and had some little damages in the area near to the shred. Since the beginning when we got this product, I noticed that the metal to secure the seatbelt was tight and was hard to move it to adjust, and in occasions, the harness folded a little because it was too tight, when the baby is placed in the car seat is hard to move that piece because the leg of the baby interferes with the visibility when we tried to move it up. when I move it to adjust in the leg area and buckle up the seatbelt, I can feel and see the friction between the harness and the metal, but I thought this was the way this had to work. ( now I am using another car seat and I can notice how smooth this piece is to move and adjust the harness and doesn’t have this friction)   when I noticed the problem I contacted Doona Support and informed them what happened with the harness because my product was under the time of warranty,  I asked for a new harness and their response was, Because “the harness was shredded, and there are also pictures in the webbing. Unfortunately, this kind of damage is not covered under your warranty”. If I am reporting this problem with them is because obviously there is a malfunction on the design that causes the harness to get shred.   I was lucky that the harness shred and I was able to notice that something was wrong with the baby car seat, I don’t know how long my baby was at risk using that car seat, because it is obvious that the harness was weak after months of friction with that metal. Now I am worried thinking how many kids are using this probably having the same problem without knowing it?

In their email they try to suggest that the damages were caused intentionally, this are the words they used “ As we mentioned, the punctures and shredded webbing indicate that your car seat harness has been damaged.  It takes something extremely sharp or a lot of force to cause the webbing to shred. Unfortunately, this kind of damage is not covered under your warranty.”

If is there a way to test the harness and prove that the metal in the Doona is causing this, I am willing to let them test the resistance of the harnesses on my product and find out which object caused the damage. I am sure that was that piece to adjust the seatbelt that caused the damage. we didn’t cause this, I am really concerned that this company prefers to go blind to the problem and try to blame us for the damage instead of investigating what was the real cause of the problem and corrected and do a recall to all that products that can present a risk to the kids
