The product, in the report: This is a brightly colored plastic baby toy shaped like an owl, marketed as the Playtex Baby Musical Owl. It has a hot pink body with large, clear plastic eyes that rattle when shaken. The nose is a red, faceted, gem-like button that lights up and plays music when pressed. The owls wings are white with black circular inserts on each side. The toy also features three plastic clacker rings (green, yellow, and orange) attached to the bottom center. The toy is labeled for infants aged 0+ months and is meant to be used as a rattle and teether. It is handheld, lightweight, and has smooth curves for easy gripping. The packaging includes the model number PL7008.

Im reporting a safety concern about the Playtex Baby Musical Owl (model PL7008). It is marketed for infants ages 0+ months and features a rattle and light-up function.

I discovered that a small, hard plastic piece (a black circular insert on the wing) had detached from the toy. The area where it should be is smooth, making it difficult to notice at first. I compared it to online images and confirmed that a piece is indeed missing. I suspect the toy may have come this way, or the part came loose without noticeable damage.

My biggest concern is that this toy is designed for babies to mouth and chew, and a detachable plastic insert poses a serious choking or ingestion risk. My baby may have swallowed the piece though she shows no symptoms currently and I want to report this before another child is harmed.

There were no drops, no misuse, and I handled the toy as intended. I am willing to provide photos and any other details needed.
