No incident, no one hurt Made Jul 15, 2026, sent to the company Jul 21, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 4, 2026
The product, in the report: Foldable Wooden Baby Playpen with Soft Play Mat, Adjustable Playpen for Babies and Toddlers. 56x56x23inches
I am reporting this wooden playpen because it presents a serious safety hazard. The playpen is assembled with screws that repeatedly work themselves loose during normal use. Today I found one of the screws in my infant sons mouth after it had fallen out of the playpen. This created a significant choking hazard and could have resulted in a serious injury.
After this incident, I reviewed the products customer reviews and found that multiple other buyers reported the same issue of screws loosening and falling out. Despite these repeated reports of the same safety defect, the product continues to be sold. This appears to be a potential design or manufacturing defect rather than an isolated incident. A product intended for babies and young children should not have hardware that loosens during normal use, creating small parts that pose a choking risk. I believe this product should be investigated to determine whether it meets applicable child safety standards and whether other similar products sold by this manufacturer have the same defect.
