The reports, as CPSC published them

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 11, 2026, sent to the company Jan 14, 2026, published by CPSC Feb 4, 2026

The product, in the report: Harppa Grovi play pen, as purchased in June 2025

Gate on Harppa play pay swung open when child rattled it, swinging child outside the play pen. Gate opened because screw holding latch closed unscrewed spontaneously. Screw was exposed when latch popped off presenting imminent choking hazard and scratch hazard at child’s eye and face level. If parent had not been with child, child could have been unsecured in house, seriously injured on exposed sharp end of screw, or choked on screw.

Made Dec 15, 2025, sent to the company Jan 13, 2026, published by CPSC Jan 30, 2026

The product, in the report: HARPPA INC. Grovi Playpen | Baby Gate Playpen & Fence for Babies and Toddlers 60 in x 71.5 in x 24 in

A wooden slat on an infant crib manufactured by Harppa Baby split lengthwise during normal use, creating sharp, protruding wooden shards and compromising the structural integrity of the crib side. The defect was discovered while the crib was being used for supervised infant care.

The product involved is a wooden infant crib. The user was an infant. The crib was being used as intended, for infant containment and rest.

Although no injury occurred, the split slat posed a risk of laceration, entrapment, and potential structural failure. The crib was immediately deemed unsafe for continued use, and steps were taken to remove the infant from the product as soon as an alternative could be obtained.

Photographs documenting the defect are available.

Made Oct 19, 2025, sent to the company Oct 29, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2025

The product, in the report: Harppa Baby Wooden Play Pen

Ten month old daughter was able to unscrew/release a locking pin on the Harppa Baby Wooden Play Pen. She was found chewing on the pin. This is a major choking hazard. A locking mechanism (and any component, for that matter) on a play pen should be rigorously tested and built to ensure that no pieces can come loose.
