The product, in the report: Baby Playpen Kids Activity Centre Safety Play Yard Home Indoor Outdoor New Pen (14 Panels Ocean White) Gray and white. Foldable Baby playpen Baby Folding Play Pen Kids Activity Centre 59x59x23.6inches.

I am writing to report a safety concern regarding a children’s playpen that tested positive for lead content.

Upon advice from our pediatrician, I used a lead testing kit after finding that my 12 month had elevated lead levels of 8.6. The product in question is a playpen, still currently available for purchase on Amazon. The metal threads on the playpen bolts were the specific components that tested positive for lead, raising serious safety concerns. I used three different brands of testing kits.

The playpen was used by my child as a safe space for play and rest. The presence of lead in the metal threads creates a significant risk of lead exposure, particularly for infants and toddlers who may come into contact with or mouth these components. It is very easy for him to remove those bolts.

However, the potential for lead poisoning is alarming, particularly given the elevated lead levels already detected in my child’s system. This exposure to lead poses severe long-term health risks to young children, including developmental delays and cognitive impairments.

I urge the CPSC to investigate this matter promptly to ensure the safety of other consumers and prevent further lead exposure through this product.

Thank you for your attention to this critical issue.

The product, in the report: The product seems to have been sold by Gupamiga in Amazon but they also sale the same one at [REDACTED] and other major retail companies. It is listed as Baby Playpen Kids Indoor Activity Centre Safety Play Yard Home Indoor Outdoor New Pen.

Hello my name is [REDACTED] and yesterday my wife and I found our 1 yr old daughter with a piece of rubber/plastic in her mouth while she was inside her playpen. We inspected everything in her play area and found that the plastic came from the bottom of her playpen. It seems that the rubber/plastic breaks off with normal use and we don’t believe our daughter managed to remove it by herself. We inspected them all and found that some pieces of rubber are also breaking from other sections of the baby playpen. We are extremely blessed that she didn’t choke with the piece of rubber because it could have ended a lot worse.
