The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Apr 24, 2013, sent to the company May 8, 2013, published by CPSC May 22, 2013

The product, in the report: portable play yard

(04/24/2013) The consumer stated that her child got her leg caught underneath the mattress on the bottom of the play yard. There are wood slats sewn into the material of the mattress. The slats shifts. This is not the first time that this has happened. The consumer stated that she called the company when it happened the first time. She was sent a replacement mattress/floorboard. The same thing happened with the replacement. The consumer stated that she does not see any bruises this time. The first time the board shifted was in March. The baby slipped and fell. She smashed her head on the railing of the play pen. The consumer did not seek medical attention for either of the incidents. (04/24/2013) The consumer called the manufacturer today to tell them what had happened. She left a message.

Made Aug 9, 2011, published by CPSC Sep 23, 2011

The product, in the report: Portable play pen

On 8/9/11, I called your office to file a complaint against Dorel Juvenile Group, the importer for the Cosco play-pen in question.

This play-pen base is detrimental to children, it consists of five (5) boards that do not interlock in place.

These boards have a tendencey to slide over the top of one another, thereby stacking up.

Should any child, not only my grandon, hit their head on these boards, there will be serious medical problems.

After these boards do slide over, it leaves their fingers, hands, feet, legs, able to go through the bottom, causing more serious medical problems.

I hope this problem can be rectified before any child gets hurt.
