The product, in the report: Lullaby Pack and Play Mesh

This caller is reporting that her one year old has been cut when rubbing the side of his head on the mesh of his pack and play. She said that his right ear was cut badly enough that there was quite a bit of blood on the mesh, she noticed that it was red and scratched on Friday, August 2nd, 2019 but then Saturday it became obvious what the issue was when she looked at him, saw blood and then saw a significant amount of blood on the mesh to the pack and play. His mother cleaned and treated her son’s ear and the pack and play. She said she was rubbing her knuckle over the mesh as we were talking and it was scratching her knuckle. She has not contacted the manufacturer but she does intend to contact them.

The product, in the report: Chicco Playard

The floor of the playard (play pen) is NOT secured or attached to the bottom frame of the play pen. The floor is made up of 4 flat wood panels so it can be lifted and folded in quarters for storage. The problem is that the baby is able to lift the panels on the edges, folding it back towards the middle and climb down into the fabric that sits on the frame. I’m worried he will break through the fabric and hurt himself. I can’t walk away from him in the playpen for this reason.

I contacted the company about how to fix the issue and they brushed me off, said there is a replacement floor available for purchase on the website. This is not true -- there is a replacement floor, but it DOES NOT secure to the frame any where while it is sitting on the bottom of the play pen.

The product, in the report: Chicco Lullaby LX Playard, brown

We own a Lullaby LX Playard from Chicco. Our infant often sleeps for periods of time in it at night, and in the last two consecutive nights, one of the long sides has snapped and folded while she was sleeping in it. The first night, I woke to see the side sagging and removed my daughter. The second night, I had my husband verify that it was properly assembled, but I was later awoken by a cracking sound only to find that the same side had buckled again. This Playard is less than a year old.

The product, in the report: Chicco Lullaby LX Portable Playard

6/05/12- 1st incident I placed my sleeping 2mo old infant in the top level of the Chicco Lullaby LX Portable Playard. When he began fussing and kicking his feet, causing his socks to come off, and his toe was rubbing back and forth along the mesh siding of the playard. This caused him to slice the skin off of his toe and blood was everywhere. I contacted the company, sent them pictures, and shipped them the playard to look over. The company then sent me a new playard but without any explaination other than they would evaluate it.

7/18/12- 2nd incident I have been afraid to place my infant in the new playard but did lay him in it today. He was in there for approximately 3-5 minutes when he began crying and I noticed he had once again sliced his toe. Blood is all over the mesh netting and the padding.

I feel that it is very unsafe that this type of mesh netting is able to slice the skin off the bottom of his toe.
