First aid Made Jun 24, 2026, sent to the company Jun 29, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 14, 2026
The product, in the report: Kirkland size 1 diapers purchased from Bellingham, WA Costco in May 2026. Packaging not available.
Size 1 Kirkland diapers purchased from Bellingham, WA Costco in May 2026 stick to baby’s skin immediately when wet. The inner lining creates redness and risk of skin injury. Baby scream-cries until the diaper is removed due to tugging on sensitive skin. Using barrier creams does not help. Impacted person is 1 month old, unable to report accurately in subsequent fields.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Jul 9, 2025, sent to the company Jul 11, 2025, published by CPSC Aug 1, 2025
The product, in the report: I am writing to report a serious issue with the new version of Costco Kirkland Signature Diapers. After recently purchasing a box size 4. I noticed a significant decline in quality compared to the previous version. Within a few days of use, my child developed a severe diaper rash, which required medical attention and the use of barrier creams. This is extremely concerning, especially as we had no issues with the old version of the Kirkland diapers. In addition to the rash, Ive experienced the following problems: Diapers are noticeably thinner and less absorbent It was only after some research that I learned of the recent manufacturer change from [REDACTED] to First Quality. While I understand supply chain adjustments happen, the products performance has dropped dramatically, and it appears to be affecting many childrenbased on widespread complaints online. This issue needs to be addressed promptly to protect families who rely on Kirkland Signature for trusted, safe products. I would appreciate a formal acknowledgment of this issue, and I urge Costco to investigate this change and consider reverting to the prior supplier.

No one hurt Made Jun 7, 2024, sent to the company Jul 10, 2024, published by CPSC Jul 25, 2024
The product, in the report: Costco Kirkland signature size 5 diaper.
A large piece of sharp plastic was found inside Costco Kirkland signature diaper. My 2.5 year old was complaining of something poking her and itching. We investigated what was happening and noticed the plastic piece starting to stick and protrude out of inside the diaper. There was no injury caused to my daughter, but what was found could have caused an injury. After we pulled out the pieces of plastic there still feels to be several hard and unusual spots on the diaper.

First aid Made May 31, 2016, sent to the company Jun 8, 2016, published by CPSC Jun 29, 2016
The product, in the report: Kirkland size 5 diapers
I bought a box of size 5 Kirkland brand diapers for my 2 year old. I had noticed that she kept getting diaper rashes for no apparent reason. All of a sudden 2 weeks ago, she had a 1st degree burn that was so bad, cold water made her cry out in agony. And, she was only wet, not dirty.
We determined that these diapers were not wicking away the moisture and have since quit using them.
