Hurt, no treatment Made Aug 20, 2022, sent to the company Aug 24, 2022, published by CPSC Sep 8, 2022
The product, in the report: The Skip Hop Fold Away Activity Bouncer is LxWxH 34.65 x 33.5 x 28.75 inches weighing approximately 14 pounds. It is made of plastic and polyester. It states it’s for children 4+ months up to 24 pounds and 31 inches tall. It has a light up cloud bounce tracker. Folds flat for storage. Clip on removable toys. 360-degree rotating seat. 4 spring capsules in different colors.
My 1 year old son was using the Skip Hop Explore & More Jumpscape Fold-Away Jumper, as he has almost every day for the past 6 months. He is well within height and weight limit of the product (although those details cannot be found on the item or product website). 8/20/22, one of the 4 straps snapped, causing the seat to fly forward and my son’s head hit the ground. The seat kept him upside down. I was sitting right next to him as this happened. There was nothing my “supervision” could have done to prevent this from happening. When I went to Amazon to leave a review, most of the uploaded photos had the exact same situation happen - yet this product still shows as having 4.5 star rating. The bouncer has a warning that it “may cause head injury”. This head injury could not have been prevented and is a direct result of the products design. The injury could have been severe and I would like to prevent another child from having to experience this horrible accident.
