The product, in the report: Retractable Baby Gate Dog Gate - Wiscky Extra Wide Safety Gates 33” Tall, Extends to 59” Wide, Easy to Roll and Latch Dogs Gate for Doorways, Stairs, Hallways, Deck, Banisters Indoor/Outdoor

I am reporting a serious safety concern with the Wiscky Extra Wide Safety Gate (33” Tall, Extends to 59” Wide, Retractable Baby Gate). The incident occurred while my 18-month-old child was interacting with the gate, which was securely installed at the top of a stairwell. My child was looking over the gate when the top latch suddenly snapped with minimal pressure applied.

Although I was able to catch my child before any injury occurred, the latch failure was alarming, as the gate was properly installed and securely latched at the time of the incident.

After reaching out to the manufacturer, they responded by sending a replacement latch. Unfortunately, this replacement latch also snapped in a similar way within a week of installation, under minimal pressure, posing a continued risk to my childs safety.

While no injuries have occurred thus far, the recurring latch malfunction raises serious concerns about the durability and safety of the product, particularly in high-risk areas like stairwells. I urge the manufacturer to conduct a thorough investigation into the latch mechanism and address the defect to prevent any potential accidents or injuries in the future.
