The product, in the report: Black retractable gate

We installed a Perma Retractable Baby Gate on our stairs for our 9 month old daughter who was becoming mobile. I put the gate up, so that I could good laundry and within 30 seconds of walking away, I heard multiple thumps. I walked to our stairs to see my daughter half way down the stairs, with the gate still completely closed. As Im trying to get over the gate, she rolled the rest of the way down the stairs. She can not pull up well enough to go over this, so the only possiblity is that this product is defective and has enough give to let a small child underneath, providing me with no peace of mind that a gate should provide. We took her to the ER and thankfully she was ok, but this could have been prevented if the product worked effectively and another child could not be so lucky.
