Baby gate (see bottom of note for exact amazon title) was installed correctly, wall clips are faulty. Our toddler pushed against the gate and the retractable portion snapped out and retracted causing her to fall down the basement stairs. This caused serious bruising, scratches from our basement stairs. My husband was also injured in the process of trying to stop her fall. I reached out to the company who did not offer any solution but to state we did not install it right and send instructions photos....which show how we already had it screwed into the wall and lined up correctly.

I ordered an Easy Baby Retractable gate and set it up between an entrance that separates 2 rooms. I purchased it to keep a 2 month old puppy separated from and old dog that has arthritis and does not want to play. The day we received it, my husband set it up according to the instructions. It looked like it would be perfect however the first time the puppy (that weighed about 12 lbs stood and put her feet on the mesh used to go across opening. the gate blew apart. A spring loaded rod shot across the room and the resat was on the ground. If someone used it for baby safety on stairs ect their is a potential for serious harm or worse. I contacted the company and they offered to send another but I refused for obvious reasons. They sent a return label to send it back for a refund.
