The product, in the report: brica munchkin wood and steel safety gate
I purchased a Brica Munchkin safety baby stair gate for my grandson at Toys-R-Us.
Installed it as per manufacture specifications on a doorway, not on the stairs.
Within 5 hrs, my grandson who is one year old figured out how to open gate. Thank the Lord we observed him at the last minute as he opened the safety gate.
he put his feet between the spindles and from his weight on the door, and from his .weight it caused the door to sag downward and out, unlatching the mechanism causing the door of the gate to open.
This could be disastrous if someone installs the gate on stairs, is not observant of their child, and the child falls down the stairs. This gives parents false sense of security and a child can die just by falling the stairs
