The product, in the report: Battery-opereated line trimmer
The product is a Worx battery operated line trimmer (generically called a weed eater). It has a finger switch in the handle and a safety button that by design must be pressed first. However, this particular unitt suddenly stopped running. I turned it upside down and it started on its own WITHOUT the finger switch being depressed or even touched and also WITHOUT the safety button being depressedd. Unfortunately, my hand was in the way when this occurred and my fingers took a beating. I repeated the sequence of turning the unit upside down several times and each time the unit started up spinning the line on its own, Then the unit started running in other positions; ie, like when held sideways; but never when held in the correct position either with the finger switch and safety btton depressed or not. The Worx companyh was contacted and would not take corrective action without a fee. The line trimmer is a little over three years old.
