How badly anyone was hurt

  • No one hurt 1 CPSC: Incident, No Injury

As each report says it, in short words; CPSC’s own words are under each.

The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made May 16, 2022, sent to the company May 19, 2022, published by CPSC Jun 3, 2022

The product, in the report: SunJoe Yellow, battery operated, edger. Model number: 24V-SB10-LTE. Serial number: 0238860002284. Purchased from Amazon.com.

On Friday May 13, 2022 I used their edger to groom my front yard. In that process the blade on the edger snapped off sending a projectile into my front door side window. The tip of the blade broke off sending that piece of hard plastic into the front window like bullet. I expected the blade to wear as others blades would wear down when the blade came in contact with the sidewalk. My experience with these sorts of lawn tools told me that the blade should have simply worn down, not broken off! Had there been someone standing or working at or near the front door when the blade broke they would have been severely injured. Or worse killed from the blade traveling at the speed it was.
