The product, in the report: HomeLite Weed Wacker

I we bought a weed wacker from home depot that is a homelite weed wacker, its made by One World Technology. I called and told them this weed wacker was not safe since they change it from where you bump the head to advance the line to having it advance when you press the power button so that whenever you press the power button it advances. I called and told them that the line advances so far that it goes over the black guard thats in place, Ive been cut a few times from it. I had told the product manager about this and he told me my claim was frivolous and told me I was probably not wearing the proper clothes, I told him so I guess tennis shoes, knee high socks and sweats isnt the proper wear? He wouldnt answer me. I wrote in and they did nothing. Well this time I wore tennis shoes, socks and jeans and I got two sores on my legs from where it hit me. I called and talked to a young man who said he was taking over for the previous guy because the previous guy retired. I explained what happened to me and I said I could send pictures, he said thats fine and he said he would call me back after he could see what he could do. I havent heard anthing and I tried to call today and I got hung up on.

The product, in the report: Home Lite Auto Feed weed wacker

I have a Home Lite Weed Wacker, its the third one of the same model number, I thought 3rd time is a charm since I was only able to exchange it, third one is also defective, automatic line feed does not work on these weed wackers, I have to keep trying to get the lid off to advance the lines myself, This last time, it did not advance so I undid and advanced a inch like the instructions told me too and I put the lid back on, I plugged it back in and pressed the trigger, the line popped out when I Turned it on the scraped my leg and then left welts on my leg. I have called home lite, I told them what happened, I got a call today by a guy first he said his name was [REDACTED] then it was [REDACTED], he said “ I tested the weed wacker you sent us and found nothing wrong with it” which I know for a fact is incorrect because the weed wacker I sent him did not have the metal square on it thats used to cut the line. It also had a few other pieces missing that I did realize was missing til I got the other weed wackers. He told me, your claim is dismissed your being frivolous.I called One World who is over Home lite and the gentleman looked up my phone number and apparently Home lite documented that I took the weed wacker for service at a [REDACTED] lawn quipement repair, and I never did, No one would take it without proof of purchase. So they lied about that. They have a weed wacker on the shelf that is defective, The autofeeds do not work, one is nothing but 3 is BAD. This needs to be taken off the shelves.

The product, in the report: Home Lite weed wacker

I have bought three home lite weed wackers, and they all be defective, they are suppose to be auto feeders which means when you press the trigger / start button it automatically releases the line. The first weed wacker fed too much line and I got cut by it on my leg. The other two that I bought were not auto feeding all the time and I had to pry the lids off to get the line to feed. WHen I did that and I would start the weed wacker again the line would feed even tho it was already OUT. Its a dangerous weed wacker, its very easy to get cut from the line feed because it doesnt auto feed when its suppose to all the time and if you manually do it and then turn it back on sometimes it feeds and you get an excessive amount of line.

The product, in the report: String Trimmer

I have had this Trimmer for approx 18 months and just after the warranty ran out the fuel hoses that go into the gas tank disintegrated and caused a fuel leak. I replaced the tank assembly and in less than six months later the same thing happened. When I noticed the fuel leaking after filling the tank I poured the fuel back into my gasoline container and the hoses were so disintegrated the fuel filter inside fell out of the tank. When I called Homelite they advised me it was due to using gas with ethanol and there was nothing they could do for me. This inferior hose being used by Homelite is a fire hazard, I was lucky I noticed the leak before starting the unit or the might have been a fire. There are very few gas stations that do not have ethanol in their fuels.
