The product, in the report: Makita RBL260 two-stroke leaf blower/vacuum

Blade broke off on blower impeller and was projected at high speed out of the blower, hitting my hand, causing significant bruising and bleeding.

I am an engineer with NASA and am good at diagnosing failures. My theory is that using the blower as a yard vacuum over the years has sucked up debris that damaged the impeller blades.
