  1. No one hurt

Made Jan 11, 2026, sent to the company Jan 14, 2026, published by CPSC Feb 4, 2026

The product, in the report: Amazon order info from Feb.12 , 2022; the last time I bought the double pack : “LIBA bug zapper electric indoor insect zapper mosquito, bug, fly zapper powerful 2800V grid, 2 pack. + 4 extra replacement bulbs. Sold by LIBA. Supplied by: Other”

LIBA USA has sold directly and via other vendors bug zappers that has short circuited twice for me. The first time it happened in May 2024, I witnessed it directly and saw smoke coming out and sparks flying up from the attachment point of one of the hanger loops on the top of the unit. I also smelled a burnt smell. I reported it to them back in May 2024 and now again in Jan 2026 when the second unit shorted. I thought it might be just one bad unit first but now I am convinced the bug is a feature. I need you to take action to have these units recalled before someone gets hurt. They did not seem to be interested in 2024 to investigate and take action towards a recall. I have photographic evidence and copies of my correspondence. I saved the last unit that short circuited. I was not present to observe this latest unit short circuiting but discovered it when I was going to change the light bulbs (1-11-26) since both remaining units had stopped working.
