The product, in the report: This is the product here: https://mod-lighting.com/products/meadow We purchased the Insert in Medium Size
I purchased 4 120V lights for our pool area from Mod Lighting: https://mod-lighting.com/products/meadow. They are marked as UL certified on the website. When we received the lights, we found they have a stake at the bottom with a wire coming out of it and there is no UL certificate or any other markings.
NEC requires conduit and associated connections for a line voltage light like this to be wet rated. There is no way this light is UL certified and I wonder whether MOD lighting has any UL certificates at all for any of their lights. I took a look through various web page and installation guides and was able to find no evidence of that.
This was going to be installed in a pool area and selling these sorts of lights is not just against code, it’s highly dangerous. I hope you can investigate and see if my claims are correct. I’m not a licensed electrician but I do have some knowledge of such matters.
