The product, in the report: Outdoor light fixture which typically goes above a garage or illuminates a porch way. Vendor ID: 1Univer. PO # - MC5029UN - Made in China. Has the tradename ‘Canarm’ beside the CSA certification mark. CSA has determined that not only was the CSA certification mark counterfeited, but so was the tradename ‘Canarm’. This product is manufactured and imported by Maxim Lighting.
As reported to Canadian Standards Association (CSA Group) by an American Citizen - “I installed four of the fixtures I purchased online about 2 years ago. Since then 2 of the units stopped working. They have light sensors so they only come on at night. I suspected the problem was with the sensors. I took the units down yesterday and found out that the sensors had actually blown. There was black soot inside the fixture and actually a hole blown in the side of the sensor”.
