The product, in the report: Fusion 3-in-1 Solar Tiki Torches, designed to hang, set on the tabletop, or a post mounting.
There were no injuries and only minor property damage as a result of this product failure. Eight lights were purchased at a local farm and home store in mid-July, then positioned around the backyard, at least two were up close to the lowest step of the center deck stairs. Direct sunlight on the failed product is estimated at approximately 8-10 hours because of mature trees, landscaping and other structures in the neighborhood. [REDACTED] had been out watering some flowers on the morning of August 2nd and did not notice any indications of failure (past, present, or future) at that time. When [REDACTED] returned home during the afternoon hours, she found that one of the solar lights had been melted, the grass around it blackened, and a small spot on the wood deck that burned but did not sustain combustion. She believes that the failure occurred during the morning hours of Friday, August 2nd, 2019, deciding to not report this to the Marshalltown Fire Department since nothing was actively happening. However, my father did take the product packaging to the station and left it for the Fire Marshal’s office on Saturday, with contact information. But received little help or information from the office.
