The product, in the report: Outdoor solar powered LED Light Motion Activated
My neighbor purchased an Ever Brite Black Motion Activated Outdoor Integrated with 24 White Solar Light. He screwed this light into his fence. That night, I walked by and the sensor activated. The light blasted me in the eyes and caused considerable eye pain and even more severe psychological pain.
This light is a 5000K color temperature LED light that has no place in a civil society. It is a weapon, not a light. This light needs to be recalled and removed from the market. It is a hazard!

No one hurt Made May 14, 2018, sent to the company Aug 14, 2018, published by CPSC Sep 4, 2018
The product, in the report: Motion activated LED outdoor light
About 1 year ago, two Ever Brite Deluxe Motion Activated LED Outdoor Lights were installed on our property. One near the door into the garage and the other near the rear entrance to our home. Saturday, May 12, 2018 my husband was working in the garage and I was in the home working when we heard a loud pop noise. Neither of us knew what the sound was and looked around, but noticed nothing. My husband came into the house to ask if I had heard the noise then exited the house through the rear entrance.
He saw flames and smoke at the location of the outdoor motion light on the garage. With the help of a neighbor, the fire was extinguished and the fire department was called to make certain there were no smoldering remains. The damage was to the vinyl siding and soffit on the garage. It could have been so much worse if no one was home when this happened.
Only after our incident have we found that reports of similar events have happened in other areas of our state - and perhaps even more.
The public needs to know of this. I could be a tragic disaster for anyone!

The product, in the report: Motion-Activated, Solar-Powered LED Lights
The consumer indicates that she purchased forty-four of the motion-activated, solar-powered LED lights and installed them all around her fence as soon as she purchased them. On 04/28/2018, one of the lights exploded and a section of the fence went down in flames. The consumer’s neighbor ran to her house to alert her of the problem. The consumer’s husband and their neighbor were able to put the fire out by using a water hose.
The consumer notes that the section of the fence that got burned will need replacement. The consumer removed all the lights from her fence.
04/30/2018 - The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation. The representative she spoke with requested photographs of the unit, and of the damages. The consumer e-mailed said photographs, and was informed they would contacted her within twenty-four to forty-eight hours.
The consumer plans on keeping the lights for the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.

The product, in the report: Exterior solar powered light named Ever Brite.
On April 1, 2018, the Rockland Fire Department responded to a single-family residence for a reported porch fire. Upon arrival, the crews found a small exterior fire that had been extinguished by the homeowner. The source of the fire was an Ever Brite solar light that was mounted to the stairs of the porch. Members of the Rockland Fire Department were shocked that a solar light could cause such damage and we performed a little research on this product. I have attached some links that we found regarding fires caused by the Ever Brite Solar Light. I have also forwarded a similar complaint/report to the Massachusetts State Fire Marshal. If you need any additional information, please contact me.

The product, in the report: A solar-powered battery lighting fixture, about 6”x5”x3”, intended for velcro, double-sided tape, or screw mounting to any surface. Ad copy says “Whether you’re approaching your front door at night or rummaging in the garage, you always need bright light to see your way. Ever Brite does just that, using solar-powered LED lights to stay lit up to 12 hours every night. Simply place it over the garage, shed or other outdoor areas to help keep your property well lit and Ever Bright. Color: Black”
“Ever Brite Solar LED White” spontaneously ignited, creating intense fire in building material that damaged property and could have resulted in significant damage or risk to occupant lives.
Within last 6 months, I purchased a few of these for use on my home. The one that created this incident was installed in a dry location, facing west in the direct sunlight of a 65 degree F day, at about 2:20PM CST. A neighbor noticed black smoke, alerted me to, and helped to extinguish it, only after it partially burned through a CCA-treated 4”x4” post.

The product, in the report: Everbrite Solar Powered Outdoor LED Light. This is an AS SEEN ON TV PRODUCT, I am not positive, but I think it was/is manufactured by Ontel Products Corp. It is hard to verify. I bought the product at CVS but they are no longer carrying it. Other places do still have it like Amazon, catalogs, etc. I do not have my original box, as we bought it about 2 months ago. I have pictures and tried to upload the photos (by selecting add files below) but could not get that to work.
Had the Everbrite solar powered outdoor LED light put on my eave of my house outside near my gate. Had been working for about 2 months. My husband noticed it quit working about a week ago, and we left it up so we could later on, replace the solar portion. When I looked at it on October 1st, it had burned a portion of my eave, shingles on the roof, and fence when it fell. This could have caused a house fire had it not burned itself out. I have pictures also. I tried to contact the company through e-mail with no response. I did find 3 other complaints online that this had happened to others.
