The product, in the report: Weed Eater Rotary Lawn Mower, Model Number 96134000602

We have a Weedeater Rotary Lawn Mower Model 96134000602, purchased at Wal-Mart in May 2008.

On October 17, 2011 I was attempting to start this mower in my driveway. When I got it started, it began to vibrate violently and was actually trying to spin in a circle. I let go of the handle which allowed the engine to shut off. I had no idea what was happening. I then noticed holes in my siding on the outside of the garage (photos attached). As I was trying to figure out what happened, I saw two pieces of metal in our garden approximatley 6 feet to the right of the holes in the siding. I retrived the pieces of metal and realized it was a blade from the mower and the blade had sheared in two (see photos)!

These blades are supposed to be made of metal tempered so that they will not break, but will only bend. Upon further investigation I discovered that the blades had actually put a hole THROUGH the garage wall and caused a hole on the INSIDE of the garage wall as well (see attached photo).

I am thankful to be alive and I am EXTREMELY fortunate that I was not killed or seriously injured when this happened.

This product is a real danger to consumers who should be made aware of this risk.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.
