The product, in the report: Bolens model series 020,20 inch push mower 125 cc Briggs and Stratton engine

I bought a Bolens Model series 020 with a 125 cc Briggs and Stratton engine at my Local Lowes. The second time it was used it would not shut off..My 19 year old daughter called me and said the new mower would not shut off. I was back home in less than 5 minutes and sure enough, it wouldn’t stop. When the safety handle was released it would just knock like it was about to blow up. I thought it would be as simple as disconnecting the spark plug wire to kill it, but that’s when it got worse. When the safety handle was released it would just knock, Like a small gun being discharged. If it would have had gas spilled on it or dry grass near it would have burst into flames. The muffler was glowing red when it finally died. Needless to say a safety mechanism should be trustworthy and this one was not. A call to their 800 number yielded an automated system that was worthless. If I recall the quick handle release was mandated to keep a mower from continuing to run if something happens to an operator while it’s being used. These mowers need to be taken out of service until they are considered safe because they are a hazard to consumers. I hope something can be done before a tragedy happens over this poor quality machine
