The product, in the report: Blitz Inc. Model 5CXG 5 gallon plastic gasoline container
I was attempting to fill my walk behind lawn mower, using a partially full Blitz 5CXG 5 gallon gas container. I inserted the filling tube in the mower tank opening, pushed down on the trigger to let gas flow and the pressure in the container shot gasoline onto my face and into my eyes. After recovering from the incident, I looked at the signage on the container, and did find a sticker that I honestly had never noticed before on the front of the container, facing away from any one using the container, that detailed that you should release the pressure before each use. I believe such information should be placed in a more obvious site on the container, for instance on the top by the handle. And I would suggest that it not be a sticker but stamped into the container. This is obviously a dangerous product the way that it is sold right now. And from the other similar incidents that I have found detailed on this site and elsewhere, I would hope that this company shows some concern and responsibility and at the very least moves the signage to the top of the container where it will be noticed by the user.
