The product, in the report: kobalt 80v Mower Model KMP6080-06
kobalt 80v kmp6080-06 Mower. The self propelled on-off paddle switch does not return home. The mower self propelled mechanism is turned on by pushing the paddle down. The mower then moves forward under power from the rear wheels. The paddle is released to stop forward motion.....but the paddle does not return home as it should and mower continues moving forward. The mower will continue to move forward unless the operator reaches behind the paddle and pushes it home, or physically restrains the mower. Since the Operator will be surprised the mower doesnt stop upon paddle release, they will likely continue to grip the handle to hold the mower back. This action prevents the blade stop from deenergizing the motor and stopping the blade motion, thereby potentially endangering anyone close to, and in the path of, the mower in forward motion. A broken return spring is likely responsible for the paddle not returning to home. Kobalt Customer Service had no repair parts or guidance for troubleshooting and repair available. Owner was told to return the mower for a replacement or refund at LOWES
