The product, in the report: The product is the Yardmax Chipper Shredder model YW7565. 3 inch diameter capacity. Approximately 4 ft tall by 30 inch by 3 ft long with a 21 by 14 inch hopper. It is moved on two 11 x 4 tire with tube wheels. It is orange in color with a Briggs and Stratton engine.
Im writing you concerning the wheels on the subject chipper model with sn 7565181910820. On August 20th 2025 I was performing maintenance on the machine and checked the tire pressure and it was low. I could not attach my air hose to the valve stem so I removed the wheel put air in the tube to 30 psi. As max was stated on the tire. I screwed the valve cap on, and as I got the wheel about a foot off the ground preparing to install it back on the machine the wheel exploded. Part of the plastic wheel hit me in the face and forehead. The tire and tube dropped to the floor. This picture was taken before I found the piece that hit me in the head. It clearly shows the tire and tube intact inflated and with the valve cap in place. I also noticed that a piece of plastic was wedged in the tube. Fearing further flying debris I wrapped the tire and tube in a moving blanket and deflated it with a nail in a board with the bucket. I escaped major injury only because the wheel was off the ground and the largest piece of plastic rim was ejected to the floor. Other injuries could have occurred by not taking proper precautions with the rimless tire and tube that was still inflated. Fortunately the wheel was off the floor and machine so the force of the largest piece was directed downward. The manuals states to check the tire pressure. I couldnt find a recommended pressure. The tire is labeled max 30 PSI
