The product, in the report: Rat Traps
This caller purchased rat traps around June 25th or June 26th, 2018 from retailer in [REDACTED] then came home and began setting them the next day. One of them snapped right after he set it and when he inspected it he saw that the staples were not set deeply enough for it to work properly. He set another trap that snapped while he was setting it and just missed his head as it went flying past it. He is reporting these traps as a severe injury hazard and would ask that CPSC inspect and recall them. There are no injuries being reported He reported these incidents to the manufacturer who is sending him three more rat traps. He states that the store where he purchased his has seven more of these defective traps and that other stores are also selling them which could result in someone being severely injured and he is asking that the stores become notified and told to remove them from the shelves.
Caller asked that a note be placed advising that ACE Distributing should be contacted immediately and advised to inspect then remove any of these rat traps still on the shelves.
