The product, in the report: Animal Trap

There is, in my opinion, a strong risk of personal injury using a Havahart model 1085animal trap.

Shame on me for trusting this Havahart trap. They have been in business for years. They had a good reputation until now. The trap consists of 3 different size holes: 1x7/8, 1/2x7/8, AND a 1x2. Now there are 2 columns of the later size running down each side right below the handle on top. Note the attached picture of my latest capture. It was able to extend its reach for 6”. There is a trough dug out of the dirt along the bottom corner. Would you really want to put this on your deck? Grass would eventually recover in a week or so. Concrete would be best. Unfortunately, I don’t have any. But wait that’s not all. I don’t kill the critter. I figure he’s just trying to make a living like the rest of us. I take them on a 4-5 mile trip to release. So this trap probably weighs about 10 pounds. Say the coon weighs 20-25 pounds. Since the geniuses place the largest openings right below the handle, one then has to hold the 30-35 pounds straight out from your side, don’t forget it has at least a 6” reach. Walk that way for 75 feet, then lift it up int your vehicle. I do have to get back to the gym. One more dandy little tidbit is they advertise proudly how there are no sharp edges inside the trap so it’s safe for the animal. My question is what about my leg?
