Hurt, care not known Made Oct 7, 2013, sent to the company Nov 14, 2013, published by CPSC Nov 29, 2013
The product, in the report: Riding Lawn Mower
This unit is recalled under Release # 01-058.
The consumer says he filled the tank and went to mow the lawn. He was running low on gas when he went to fill it up again. Suddenly it exploded in his garage. He ran out of the garage while his feet were on fire. The consumer says that is what made him realize the gas leak.
Normally a full tank of gas lets him mow the lawn twice. This time on a full tank, he could not finish his first mow. He had to replace the original gas tank on it a year and a half after purchasing the mower, because it was leaking from the bottom. The same thing happened to this second tank 4 years later.
