The product, in the report: Quality Farm and Country riding mower with Briggs and stratton 20HP OHV V-Twin INTEK motor --Briggs and Statton web site is: http:/www.bringgsandstratton.com
I have two riding mowers, one is a [REDACTED] and the other is a Quality Farm and Country. Both of these mowers have a Briggs and Stratton 20 horse power OHV INTEK motor. I purchased the Quality unit used and had it cleaned and tuned up before using it. The unit ran great for approximately half a season before the rod broke and shot out of the side of the crank case. I priced a replacement motor and found it to be more expensive that buying another mower. So I then purchased the [REDACTED] mower lightly used I knew the previous owner and he had only used it for less than a half hour. I have put around ten hours on the mower and today the same thing happened the piston connecting rod broke shooting out of the side of the crank case and sending a piece of crank case shrapnel flying. I have serious concerns about this line of Briggs and stratton engines as I have been researching them and this seems to be a EXTREMELY common issue.
