The product, in the report: Great Dane Chariot Riding Mower
On Saturday, May 1, 2010 I was using my Great Dane Riding Mower, RZ6125KAE 03. Serial #4552198. The cap on the hydraulic oil reservoir melted causing the hot oil in the tank to spew out burning my back and my leg. It ruined the shirt and pair of long pants that I was wearing while mowing. I have pictures of the burns and the shirt.
Prior to this, I had to buy replacement caps, on two separate occasions, for the hydraulic oil reservoir. They had melted, oil had leaked and the caps no longer fit. An employee at the store, Jacobi Sales, Inc told me that he had the same problem with the fluid leak and melting caps.
Jacobi’s manufactured a special metal cap but the tank continues to leak. They are picking the mower up again to try to find an answer to the problem. The hydraulic system had to be rebuilt and the hydraulics have been a constant problem since I bought this mower new from Jacobi’s. The staff, especially [REDACTED], have been very helpful and courteous yet I have spent in excess of $2,500.00 in repairs mostly because of the hydraulic system.
