The product, in the report: It is a replacement carburetor for a 18.5 horsepower engine on a riding mower. It is advertised/sold as “Nikki” brand, but no such markings are on the item or box. Comments in the Amazon seller page refer to it as a “Chinese knock-off” of the original.
This product is a replacement carburetor for a riding mower with an 18.5 HP [REDACTED] engine. It is advertised as a “Nikki” brand carburetor, as is the OEM item. Upon installation, the engine started and ran fine for a short time, then the engine died, and refused to restart. The battery died, so I left the mower for the day and charged the battery. Upon returning the next day, gasoline was seen to be dripping from the muffler of the engine, and the entire contents of the fuel tank had been drained. The oil dipstick indicated higher than normal levels of liquid in the crankcase. Several days passed and I again filled the fuel tank, and fuel began to drip from the carburetor itself.
