  1. No one hurt

Made Apr 28, 2022, sent to the company May 19, 2022, published by CPSC Jun 3, 2022

The product, in the report: Gilmour Swivel Connect Watering Front Trigger Nozzle Medium Duty From target.com: “Take care of all your watering needs with the versatile Swivel Connect Front-Trigger Eight-Pattern Nozzle from Gilmour. This sturdy hose nozzle easily twists to adjust between eight different spray patterns, helping you find the perfect pattern for any task. The front trigger hose nozzle features a clip to hold the trigger in place for less hand strain and also includes a thumb switch to adjust pressure from high to low. With the swivel connector, you can maneuver around your yard without causing the hose to kink.”

I purchased a Gilmour Swivel Connect Watering Front Trigger Nozzle Medium Duty from Target UPC: 034411260456. I used the nozzle just 5 times. On the last use, I was watering my yard - after about 10 minutes (and without any additional movements or changes to the placement of the hose or nozzle) the nozzle head came disconnected without warning from the “swivel base” and hit my dog with great velocity. This could have caused significant injury. The base of the nozzle was still attached to the garden hose - the nozzle came apart and the head went flying under the pressure of the water. This is a very dangerous product and should not be on the market. Other consumer reviews, available on Gilmour retailer sites, concur with my findings, ergo this is not an isolated incident.

The product, in the report: Gilmour 5/8-in and 3/4-in Metal Clamp Hose Mender

I was using the product to mend a leaking garden hose. After securing the two metal clamps as tight as I could, I proceeded to turn the water on. I was holding the hose and the metal clamp could not handle the water pressure. It shot off out of my right hand like a rocket. The steel piece caused a deep laceration to my inside wrist requiring an emergency room visit. There is no warning on the packaging that it may do this.
