  1. No one hurt

Made Sep 15, 2025, sent to the company Oct 24, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2025

The product, in the report: It is a white Camco taste pure 50 ft rv drinking water hose purchased at walmart on 6-28-2025

Purchased an rv drinking water hose at walmart on 6-28-2025. The brand is Camco. As the water sits in the hose it appears to be releasing some kind of chemical into the water that is causing a strong chemical smell along with white coloration as water comes out with frizzing. Dont have the original packaging anymore . Do have the receipt, but is faded. Was able to get information off it. Not looking for anything other reporting the hazard due to not sure what is leaching into the water.

The product, in the report: Camco 50 foot Taste Pure Heated Drinking water hose with thermostat, PVC, Blue

Camco heated water hose caught fire.

Updated 2/1/2023: [We were asleep with this product caught fire. Had we not been awoken by the smoke alarm we would not have known there was a fire. When awaken by the fire alarm, I found our house full of smoke and had to investigate the cause. The cause of the fire was the heated water hose. This hose was plugged into an external outlet, per the manufacturer instructions, to prevent the water hose from freezing. In the pictures you can clearly see that this house caught fire. Please call me if you have any questions.]
