  1. First aid

Made May 26, 2025, sent to the company May 29, 2025, published by CPSC Jun 12, 2025

The product, in the report: A metal garden trellis used to support climbing plants. The product is 39 inches tall, pewter-colored, and made of metal with a flared grid design. It is marketed for use in pots and outdoor landscaping. The issue occurred due to sharp, unfinished weld points along the metal grid.

On May 25, 2025, I purchased a Vigoro 39 in. H Pewter Metal Pot Trellis from The Home Depot in Lower Pottsgrove, PA. While unpacking and setting up the trellis, I sustained deep cuts on both my middle and pinky fingers due to sharp, unfinished weld points on the product. I was handling the item carefully and was not misusing it. The cuts were painful and required immediate first aid, frequent bandage changes, and over-the-counter care supplies.

This injury limited my ability to use my hand for several days, preventing me from enjoying my birthday and hobbies like fishing. I believe the trellis poses a safety risk due to poor manufacturing quality, and there were no warnings on the product indicating sharp edges or the need for gloves. Im reporting this so it can be investigated and steps can be taken to prevent injury to others.

Made Jun 19, 2017, sent to the company Jun 28, 2017, published by CPSC Jul 13, 2017

The product, in the report: 2 cu ft bags of black colored mulch.

I purchased Vigoro black colored mulch on two occasions in 2017. After spreading the product in my landscaping each time, I noticed a severe sore throat, runny nose, and serious eye irritation. I am concerned that this product has been treated with harmful and dangerous chemicals.
