The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made May 13, 2025, sent to the company Dec 19, 2025, published by CPSC Jan 8, 2026

The product, in the report: Tomato Planter

(04/15/2025) The consumer was working on his plants, and he felt like needles were cutting through his leather gloves. He says it felt like splinters. He realized that the material that the support is made of was small pieces of glass that went through the gloves. He spent several days trying to get rid of the tiny glasses. He called his doctor, friends and relatives and, finally, he washed the material (fiberglass) off his hands. However, he says that he was in pain for five days, and he couldn’t use his hands. He didn’t go to the hospital; he treated himself at home. He is very upset because he called the company many times, and it seemed like nobody cared. They treated the case as a warranty issue more than as a consumer safety issue. After he talked to customer service, he talked to the manager of the company, but they just offered a refund for the product. The caller’s concern is that, since it is a product made for food, someone could digests the glass and potentially die because of it, and there is no one working on this case. He has pictures of his tomatoes and plants, and he wants CPSC to investigate the product before someone gets severely injured or dies.
