The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Milliard Durable Waterproof Seedling Heat Pad 48”x20”

I purchased a Milliard 20” x 48” Seedling Heating Mat to warm the soil for my garden seeds and enhance germination. After using the mat for several days, I noticed that the heating elements had burnt several holes in the insulation and had scorched the underlying shelf which fortunately was flame-resistant.

I thought this might be an isolated instance, but noticed today a product review in Amazon.com for the identical problem in a Milliard 20” x 20” mat. [http://www.amazon.com/Milliard-Durable-Waterproof-Seedling-Heat/product-reviews/B00CRJ10FQ/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?showViewpoints=1]

This seems to be a systemic issue with Milliard heating mats and could be a potential fire hazard.
