The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Harbor Freight Portland 14 inch electric chainsaw , green/black in color

Harbor Freight had a recall on a 14 inch Portland electric chainsaw due to the motor continuing to run after releasing the trigger. The new chainsaw (which is identical to the recalled one but with a different model number) is what I purchased and has the very same problem but NO recall has been issued. I believe a recall should be issued on the new replacement chainsaw as soon as possibly due to the same unsafe condition.

The product, in the report: 14” electric chainsaw

I was cutting down some tree limbs using a Portland chainsaw (67255) purchased from Harbor Freight and it would not turn off upon releasing the trigger and safety switches. I had to disconnect from the power source. I was up a ladder and was lucky not injure myself. I had noticed a few minutes earlier that the trigger switch got briefly stuck on then released.
