The reports, as CPSC published them
Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.
Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

RE: Recall Number 20-191 Company is unresponsive- cannot remediate the problem
Dear US CPSC Representative:
I received the attached recall notice. As instructed, I called the phone number to look at remediation options. However, after 34 minutes on hold I gave up.
Next, I referenced their website address as instructed. However, after clicking the links it just instructed me to call the same number. I foolishly called again and now I have been on hold over one hour. This is completely unacceptable for a $200 chainsaw.
I need it to operate safely but I also cannot spend on unreasonable amount of time on hold. Then I sent them a fax but they have not responded.
The recall is completely worthless if the company is unresponsive and offers no reasonable way to contact them to fix their defective product.
Please apply pressure to make them actually honor their recall agreement.
Regrettably [REDACTED]

The product, in the report: Kobalt 12” 24V Brushless chainsaw. Blue color. Model KCS 1224A-03 UPC 0692042011719
Kobalt 24V brushless chainsaw/with battery. Model KCS 1224A-03. Date code 0420. I see there is a recall on the Model [REDACTED] for the on switch that can stick in the on position even with you hand off the switch. The model chainsaw I purchased is doing the exact same thing. The only way to shut off was to remove the battery. I was up in a tree when this happened and had a terrible time trying to shut it off.

No one hurt Made Mar 1, 2021, sent to the company Mar 18, 2021, published by CPSC Apr 1, 2021
The product, in the report: Kobalt 40v 12” battery chainsaw
While I was using a Kobalt [REDACTED] chainsaw, bucking a felled tree the unit stopped responding to trigger inputs with chain running. Only method to stop chain was removing the battery. My reading of [REDACTED] indicates that my chainsaw is likely covered by the recall, however, the company is stating that it is not. A chain saw that won’t stop running has obvious safety implications. As this symptom is precisely that of [REDACTED] and the saw was purchased in the date range, I suspect that the company is not operating in good faith. Otherwise, the recall should be expanded to include this model. Explicitly, the model number on the unit is kcs 120-06, which doesn’t specifically show up in the recall. Being familiar with manufacturing and engineering, I’d be astonished if this unit used a different switch, and even if it does, the root problem of the switch failing exists in this model
