The product, in the report: The product is a SUNJOE cordless tiller/cultivator. It is powered by a 24V, 2A-hr Lion battery. The unit has a tiller head with the motor and tines at the end of a 28.3”-37.3” telescopic shaft that terminates on a handle for the user that that has the ON/OFF switch and battery socket incorporated onto it. The unit is metal and plastic, and the plastic is molded in a lime(ish) green color.

SUNJOE MODEL 24V-TLR-LTE Cordless cultivator. Brand new, first operation. Safety ON/OFF trigger switch sticks and will not allow the unit to turn OFF. It takes MANY repeated clicks/actuations of the switch to finally turn the unit OFF. However when OFF, the unit will randomly turn itself ON. This is a particularly dangerous situation considering the user could be cleaning the rotary tines when the unit decides to activate itself. This unit was a GIFT to elderly in-laws who would be very likely to be injured by such a defect!

The manufacturer was contacted on 7/25/2022 to report this incident.
