The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. No one hurt

Made Dec 3, 2024, sent to the company Dec 12, 2024, published by CPSC Dec 30, 2024

The product, in the report: Husquvrava ST330 Model snow thrower. Oragnish yellow housing, and shoot black engine housing with rubber type shoot end. Large unit with right and left turn controls,

After traveling three feet with my brand new Husqvarna 330ST snow thrower, the machine made a very loud explosive noise, the machine stopped, wasn’t throwing snow, then started moving forwarded as I was looking at it from the side and the wheel ran over my foot and the unit struck the fence. I quickly pulled the key. Upon opening the unit as directed in instruction manual I found the belt literally destroyed, shredded everywhere and wrapped around pully and springs and other parts. The plastic housing had a pretty good dent in it from the release and the auger pully(an approx. 8” aluminum pully that sits on the back side of auger housing) was dislodged and no bolt was visible that holds the pully in place. Dint know if a bolt needs to be there because the manual does not display any pictorials of that area, which is concerning. I come to find that in 2023, a recall was issued on this unit yet the dealer sold it to me anyway in an unsafe condition. Davies and Sons Warren PA.

The product, in the report: Husqvarna 2 stage snowblower. Model# ST 227 Serial# 081821D002900

The control cables that actuate the drive system, snow chute, and auger have a tendency to freeze during or after use. The cables are Bowden or bicycle type, with steel wire inside an outer plastic housing. Moisture gets inside during use and they freeze. I’m some cases you can pull the separate levers that drive wheels and auger, however when you release levers the cables stick and internal springs are not strong enough to disengage wheels and auger. The auger constantly spinning is a major safety issue. This should always disengage when you step away from machine, similar to blades on a lawnmower.

Auger on Snowblower would’nt disengage. Husqvarna snowblower. I was using it. Shoulder and arm very sore from bracing myself not getting pulled in. I think I’m OK but time will tell on my weak shoulder at certain spots.
