The product, in the report: Kobalt Electric Lawnmower, model MK2040X-06.

I was mowing my lawn with a Kobal KM2040X-06 electric lawnmower. The mower was operating loudly for a bit, and then began to smoke. I shut the mower off and turned it over to find two spots within the unit from which smoke was emanating. I discontinued use of mower.

Note that the mower has had issues over the summer with increased noise - it will randomly increase in volume, as though something is wrong, and then quiet back down to the expected noise level after a few minutes. This appears randomly - it is not associated with areas of mowing that are difficult, or strenuous, to the unit. The mower has not emitted smoke prior to this incident.
