We ordered a craftsman m230 lawn mower from Loews in Nov 2020. The Mower is not able to stop (shut off) until the fuel is burning off.
We release control cable (The blade control), the lawn mower should stop, but it does not. The engine keep running. It is a serious safety issue.
We are unable to solve the lawn mower safety problem after trying many time to contact with Lowe’s and #: 855-971-2244 @: craftsmansupport@mtdproducts.com.
On 14 Dec 2021 by certified mail, we request the company to provide a clear free return instruction for the CRAFTSMAN M230 Lawn Mower. The certified letter was delivered at 12:39 pm on December 20, 2021 in VALLEY CITY, OH 44280.
MTD PRODUCTS MANUFACTURING did not provide response.
Request MTD replace the safety defected Lawn Mower new Lawn Mower or refund $316.94.

Craftsman CMEMW213 Lawn Mower. The unit’s rear door that is opened to attach a bag is spring loaded and closed when in the mulching mode. The spring is not strong enough, thus the door opens slightly when in use for mulching. This allows grass to be discharged rearward toward the user’s legs and feet.
Email exchanges w/ Craftsman confirms this is the intent of the mower’s design.
I feel this is unsafe.

Craftsman Gas Lawn Mower has had a variety of problems, since purchased new, at the Sears store in Slidell, Louisiana. The latest incident involves the plastic fuel tank, on the mower, that failed at the seam of the tank, and has been leaking gasoline all over the (hot) engine housing. My 20 year old son was fortunate that it didn’t explode, or flame up, when it was noticed. We brought it to the store, and they agreed this plastic tank should have not failed in less than 2 years of minimal use, but they were not willing to order me the replacement tank (which i was told was less than 50 bucks). I called their recall unit, at Sears, also, and they also agreed it should not have failed so soon, but also was unwilling to replace the part. Then, I contacted national customer service, and got a form letter response.
