I have been trying since 10/27/19 to get LG Electronics to honor the 1 year warranty on my washing machine, which was purchased 2/2/19. So far, repair has been unsuccessful on the machine and it is loud and constantly unbalanced as the machine tries to wring out no matter the amount of clothes in the machine, posing risk to property and those standing near the machine. It shakes and rattles excessively still even after repairs on 10/30/19 & 11/22/19. Machine is not safe.

LG Top Load Washer violently exploded due to overload sensor malfunctioning. This machine was recalled on December 18th 2012, but was still sold to me by Conn’s in December of 2014 with no regard to the recall.

There is a frequent recurrence of mold and mildew buildup inside the wash tub and detergent drawer of my LG Front Load washing machine that is leading to clothes which smell of mildew and inability to safely use this product on my children’s clothing. This is my second such machine. After this issue occurred in my first unit which had been purchased in 2009, in 2013 I was contacted by LG Electronics Liability department after posting here regarding mold buildup in the detergent drawer and wash tub. At that time I was told to go buy the equivalent newer model by LG that would still match my dryer and they would send someone to pick up the old unit. It has been nearly 4 years, but the machine has periodically had a mildew odor and some signs of mold and mildew in the same places again over the last year. Now, the machine is at the point where I cannot get rid of the smell. When I called LG Customer Service they told me I would have to pay to have a technician come disassemble my machine and clean it thoroughly as it was out of warranty. They also informed me that the “recommended cleaning process” is to run the Tub Clean Cycle with a chemical additive repeatedly, multiple times in a row, to eliminate smell and contamination. A washing machine is meant to clean clothes and in turn I expect it would also be a fairly clean device overall so this is unacceptable. This is now the second machine where mold and mildew seem to be pervasive to the cleaning areas of the machine and I am scared to even place my infant son’s clothing in the machine at all.

My LG washer has never been right since day one always an unbalanced load or other error but always unbalanced load..now my agitator from LG model washer wt1101cw came off my machine was shaking so insanely making noise etc..the metal at the base of the washer is seriously sharp and was exposed since i can now hold the agitator in my handbut i did cut my finger similar to a cut from a knife..its not serious but still its the point..this machine and many reviews i have read complain of the same and its ridiculous the machine never seems to balance itself and the place i bought them from was American which went out of business..

Hello,
I own an LG Front Load Washer and the issue of a mold and sludge buildup has been a significant for the entire length of ownership. I have called LG to report this and they consistently say to leave the door open and this does not work. We have also tried to wipe the area and this does not work. Additionally, the units were bought for my parents and my mother is legally handicapped. She cannot bend down and thoroughly clean the gasket on a daily basis, nor should that be needed. Her existence of eczema and psoriasis has exacerbated since using these machines. please help because LG won’t!

This washing continues to develope BLACK mold. No matter how manny times I clean the washer with the suggested washing machine cleaning products Nothing is working. I have now developed breathing problems as well as my children,who are having more allergic reactions and issues with their breathing I bielieve these issues are being caused by this machine. It is two years old. LE customer service refuses to do anything to help to remedy this misfunctional product. I have read online I a not the only one to experience this black mold issue Lg does not stand by this product. And has no intention to do anything to resolve this issue This should not be allowed. They should be held responsible to remedy this for all those who are experiencing this issue

The entire top of my washer has shattered but I have no idea why. Nothing was set on it, nothing dropped, and it was fine when I left, but broken when I returned. It’s completely evenly distributed shatter, so no evidence of something smashing or falling on it.

The product, in the report: Front Loading Steam Washer The consumer contacted Sears: they said no one else had problem-next year product for clean wash machine product came out. The consumer tried several, none worked. The consumer is old & exhausted from rejection of it all
The consumer stated that the compartment where the liquid is supposed to go is covered in black mold.
The consumer stated that she has tried various methods to clean the product including cleaners that are meant to clean the mold. The consumer stated that the mold goes away but comes back.
The consumer stated that she started noticing this problem a month after purchase.
The consumer stated that her area is well ventilated.
The consumer does not have sense of smell, so she does not know if the mold has odor.
The consumer stated that she had to have the hose cleaned out twice (Nov 2011 and Feb 2014). The hose was clogged with paper towel that the consumer used to dry off the water from the tray. The consumer’s kitchen and dining room flooded from the clogged hose in Feb 2014.

Regarding LG Front Load Washing Machine
My son and I smelled smoke in the living room/dining room. It smelled like a fire. I traced it to the laundry room. I opened the door and it was filled with white smoke and a fire smell. The washing machine was in the middle of a load of laundry. I immediately unplugged the washing machine and got myself and 3 children out of the home. I called my husband. Once I determined that a fire was not going to spread, I went back in. I opened the door to the washing machine and it was filled with smoke and smell. We are extremely concerned this may require a recall because only 4 months ago (March 2011) we donated items to a local family who had to move out of their home after it caught on fire from a faulty circuit board from an LG front load washing machine. We are still in contact with them through a close friend.
