The product, in the report: White Washing Machine Top Loading

G & E WASHING MACHINE MOD. GTW525ACPWB SER. RS248074G purchased 11/05/2021. While out of town our newly purchased washing machine started by it’s own and continued to run until we returned. The machine would not respond to any control to stop running until unplugged. Motor and bearing over heated causing heat and smoke in the laundry room. There was no water running thru into the tub and no laundry in the machine. We were NOT home for 4 days from Nov. 26th, Wed. noon to evening on Nov.30th, Saturday. The electrical cord was hot to the touch. The mechanical/electrical failure could have caused a house fire destroying our home and endangering us. The laundry room was isolated with no access as doors on either side were closed.
