No one hurt Made Jan 6, 2017, sent to the company Jan 27, 2017, published by CPSC Feb 17, 2017
The product, in the report: Hauck toy pedal go kart hurricane
Purchased a pedal go kart from hauck toys at Costco. After short routine usage by a 6 year old child the steering completely separated from the attachment point. This appears to be a defect in how the steering wheel is made causing the attachment point to separate. Once separated the child no longer has the ability to control the kart, in addition the “steering column end” is exposed and could cause severe injury to a child should there chest hit the exposed end. No injury occurred but the potential is there if this is a defect in there design or manufacturing.
