The product, in the report: “My Pal Violet Smarty Paws” purple musical bear with metal paw sensors.
This is a safety issue with LeapFrog “My Pal Violet Smarty Paws” musical bear. The bear is generally not played with with at all, but used for bedtime music, and was not being used at the time of incident. The bear was not working tonight and when I picked it up, the back of it was extremely hot. Upon opening it up, it appears the spring that connects both of the batteries to the bear moved slightly, causing one of the batteries to overheat and break open. While the bear itself had not yet burned, if I had not let it go quickly, I would have been burned, and it most certainly would have burned my child and started a fire.
