  1. No incident, no one hurt

Made Oct 15, 2025, sent to the company Oct 31, 2025, published by CPSC Nov 26, 2025

The product, in the report: Drabbits brand hand puppet a fantasy/animal-style puppet made of cloth and faux fur with internal cable controls used to move the head, mouth, and arms. Each puppet includes a large metallic weight (sinker) at the bottom of the control cable assembly, used as a counterbalance for movement. The weight is roughly 1 inch long, dull gray in color, soft metal, and visibly tarnished. When rubbed on paper, it leaves a gray streak like a pencil. The puppet is marketed as a toy or interactive puppet for children, sold both online at https://www.drabbits.com and in person at fairs and festivals. No labeling or warnings are provided regarding the materials or the metal counterweight.

The Drabbits puppet product includes a large exposed metallic sinker used as a cable counterweight to control the puppets movements. The weight appears to be made of solid lead it leaves a gray residue similar to pencil marks when rubbed on paper and tested positive with a home lead test kit.

The product is heavily marketed and sold directly to children, both online (https://www.drabbits.com) and in person at fairs, festivals, and public events including renaissance fairs where children eat hand-food with no utensils. The puppets are handed directly to children without any safety warnings, labeling, or disclosures about the presence of lead or potential toxicity.

The company provides no warning or safety information on its website, packaging, or sales materials, and has failed to respond to customer inquiries regarding the suspected lead content. This raises serious safety concerns for child exposure to lead through touch or ingestion of contaminated residues.

I believe this product poses a significant and preventable hazard to childrens health and should be investigated immediately for possible recall or consumer warning.
